Usage Instructions for Screen Printing Silicone in The Apparel Printing Industry

Liquid silicone is primarily used in the printing industry for creating silicone prints on fabric, logos, transfer labels, and mold-based trademarks on clothing materials. High-quality printing effects and products are achieved by following the established silicone screen printing process using tools such as screens and squeegees. The following are general usage instructions for liquid silicone in the printing industry:

1. Selecting the Appropriate Silicone:

  Choose the right type of liquid silicone based on the performance of the fabric or substrate. For example, elastic fabrics, textured fabrics, nylon webbing substrates, substrates with rubber bands, TPU substrates, waterproof fabric, soft fabrics, and high-hardness touch requirements. Selecting the appropriate silicone is a crucial first step in silicone screen printing.

2. Creating Printing Screens:

  Produce suitable screens based on the desired pattern. Typically, use mesh fabrics with 120, 150, or 180 mesh counts to create screens.

3. Printing Process:

  3.1 Print HD silicone to a sufficient height.

  3.2 Add an appropriate amount of pigment to round silicone and print to the standard color.

  3.3 Use glossy silicone or matte silicone for surface effects.

4. Baking:

  After printing is complete, place the fabric in a baking oven at 130 degrees for 3 minutes to ensure complete curing of the printed silicone. Afterward, proceed to the next step, sewing.

5. Characteristics:

  The cured silicone has stable dimensions, good demolding properties, high adhesion to fabrics, ease of use, low material viscosity, low linear shrinkage, high tensile strength, strong flexibility, excellent resistance to ozone and UV aging, outstanding three-dimensional effects, non-toxic, odorless, and excellent biocompatibility. Specifically used in the production of silicone rubber clothing labels, it can be individually made into trademarks and used for embossing fabric, leather, metal, paper, plastic, glass, and non-slip tape coatings.
